The City of Kings, Kraków continues to impress and drive me to visit again and again. In October 2019 I was able to visit family and see some new sights and classics. Many more trips to this city in the future.
Gdansk, the Polish free city and the city which launched the revolution that would bring down the evil empire. Neighbored by Sopot and Gdynia this city is one I have the opportunity to travel to quite a bit. In the neighborhood is the historical castle of Malbork, and some amazing forests to enjoy, with fresh sea food and an amazing story to tell.
One of the reasons Vegas continues to draw me in is the opportunities to see a constantly changing city. In the fall of 2017 I took the opportunity to walk around the day before working with a local model, and one day after classes I continued to try out equipment and find locations. Each has its own appeal and unique flair from the Bellagio to Excalibur, the strip, to Downtown, Vegas is constantly changing and making itself new for those visiting.
Germany has hidden areas all over, but in this trip in 2017 we kept to the former German Democratic Republic, and were able to find many areas of unique beauty, historical context and as well stuff you would never think is in the heartland of Germany.
Vegas is a regular draw for us and what we like to do and see, from clubs to shopping hiking and amazing dining options. In 2017 we wanted to see Tiësto at the famous Hakkasan, but rather than just the club we went along the strip as well for some fun practice.
This spring I went to Gdańsk, Poland for work, while the day was spent in the office in the evening I was able to to get out with my co-worker and see a city I hadn't seen for more than a decade. Amazing sights and worth the opportunity.
In February 2015 I had the opportunity to visit the world famous Ice Hotel in Jukkisjarvi Sweden, for their 25th edition. A photographer's lighting dream, and with only one flash, taking gels and looking at unique views, the hotel is something to see again in the future.
On our way to the Ice Hotel we did a layover in Iceland and took a few days to see some of the sights in January. An amazing country worth seeing again in slightly warmer conditions.
This was a game played by Icelandic High School girls on the frozen lake in downtown Reykjavík
Beach on same peninsula that Keflavík airport is located
In 2014 we went to Moldova, one of the smallest countries in Europe, sandwiched between Romania and Ukraine. In 4 days we saw history, some of the most friendly people, international Children's day (June 1st) and a country that is mostly un-visited and is transitioning into a modern European country with amazing potential.

A Brutalist building in downtown Chisinau
The national opera after a rain storm in Chisinau
Amazing handwork to create lace

We had attended my host brother's wedding near Krakow in Poland, and Lydia had never been to where her grandmother was from in the then Czech Republic, so we decided to include the village on our trip through Europe that year. These are the photos of the amazing village where we had great hospitality from family friends, and were able to see amazing things we didn't even know existed, from mini castles, to coal mines and less than a day in Prague at the end.
